Obituary of Alice Rose Garey

The death of Miss Alice Rose Garey, of Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB, occurred on Friday, December 27, 2002 at her residence. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Walsh) Garey. Miss Garey was a Secretary with the Federal Department of Transport, from where she retired in 1970, following a career of 40 years. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where she served with the C.W.L. Alice thoroughly enjoyed travelling. She is survived by one sister, Edna (Mrs. Vincent Richards) of Saint John, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, Elizabeth (Lil) Garey, and four brothers, John, Walter, Leo, and Donald. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2002 at 12:00 Noon from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will take place at Holy Cross. Remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
