Obituary of Zöe Samantha Odei
The death of Zöe Samantha Odei, of 5415 Victoria Road, Halifax, NS, formerly of Saint John, occurred unexpectedly on Thursday, October 31, 2002, at the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Ghana, West Africa, on January 24, 1973, she was the daughter of Dr. Larbi and Angela (Opoku-Akyeampong) Odei of Saint John. Zöe was a high honors graduate of Saint John High School and a member of the Kiwanis Steel Band. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Commerce from McGill and then graduated from UNB Law School. Zöe was an active member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society, the Canadian Bar Association, past member of the Business Network International, St. John & St. Stephen Church, the Kings County, NS S.P.C.A. and many other volunteer organizations. She was engaged in the practice of Law with Taylor, MacLellan and Cochrane in Kentville, NS, before joining Patterson Palmer, in Halifax, NS. Besides her parents, she is survived by one brother, Basil (Charmaine) of Whitby, ON, one sister, Anthea of Brampton, ON, one niece, Esi Nardu Quaye and two nephews, Marshall and Dawson Odei. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen, Coburg Street, Saint John, on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 2:00 PM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
