Obituary of Helen Bertha Doyle

The sudden and unexpected death of Helen B. Doyle, occurred at her residence on Wednesday, February 18, 2004. Born in Saint John, she was the wife of the late James Gerard (Gerry) Doyle and daughter of the late Coleman and Helen Allen .In her early years Helen was a switchboard operator with NB Tel, retiring as supervisor. Helen stayed at home to raise her family of four but continued to work as administrative assistant for Gerry Doyle's Plumbing and Heating. Helen then returned to the work force in her middle years working for the Canadian Red Cross. Helen was a member of and had a very special place in her heart for the congregation of Park Avenue United Church. Helen was very devoted to her family for whom she loved to cook. One of her many passions in life was chocolate, she also was an avid reader. She will truly be missed by her many family and friends. Helen believed in and was an avid supporter of Romero House and the St Joseph's Hospital Foundation. Helen is survived by three sons, Allen (Lana), Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, Jamie, Fredericton, NB, Daniel (Debbie), Saint John, NB, one daughter Lark Doyle who was at home with her mother. Two brothers, Donald Allen (Cathy), and George Allen (Joan) both of Saint John, NB, four grandchildren Nicholas, Kayla, Danielle and Patrick, a special step mother Audrey Doyle, also several cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visiting will be held Friday and Saturday, 2-4, 7-9 PM. Funeral will take place in Park Avenue United Church, Saint John, NB, on Monday, February 23, 2004, at 11:00 AM, internment to follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to Helen may be made to Park Avenue United Church, St Joseph's Hospital Foundation and Romero House.
