Obituary of Roy Alexander Wooden

The Death of Roy “Bunny” Wooden, occurred peacefully, Saturday, September 27, 2003, at his residence, in Ridgewood Veteran's Hospital, at the age of 94. Born in Wirral, NB, he was the son of the late Harry and Catherine (Matthews) Wooden. Bunny was a veteran of World War II, he worked as a trucker for CP Rail, until his retirement in 1974, he was an avid knot maker and even though he never mastered playing the fiddle, he was able to make one of his own and enjoyed listening to fiddle music. He is survived by one sister, Bernice Young of St. George; his nieces, Helen Murray (Jim), Mary Lanteigne and Kathy McLaughlin of Saint John. Nephews, Douglas and Kenneth Young of Ontario, Albert and Harold Wooden of Norton, Donnie Wooden of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and Harry Wooden of Winnipeg, Manitoba; several great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Murray and Byron Wooden, and his sister Helen McLaughlin. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Monday, September 29, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 30, 2003 from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to any charity of the donor's choice.
