Obituary of Loomis Sylvester McQuade

The death of Loomis Sylvester McQuade, husband of Winnifred (Pevlin) McQuade of Kingston, NB, occurred on Wednesday, June 1, 2005, surrounded by his loving family at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Medford, NB a son of the late Wilburt and Louise (Cote) McQuade he had worked as a welder with Ocean Steel and at the Saint John Ship Yard. Lou had served overseas during World War II from 1939 ? 1945 and was a member of the Allied Artillery Second Field Division having participated in the Italian Campaign, advancing in Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was a member of the Kingston United Baptist Church and the Royal Canadian Legion, Penninsula Branch # 62. Survived by his wife, Winnifred; daughter, Wanda (Mont) Bonney; son, Glendon (Priscilla) McQuade; and a special brother, John McQuade, all of Kingston, NB; sister, Verbena Clarke of Presque Isle, ME; five loving grandchildren, Stacy, Erica, Jeffrey, Emma and Eric; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, four brothers and ten sisters. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday evening at 7 pm. Funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 1 pm. with interment following in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
