Obituary of Clarence E. Roche

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Clarence Ethelbert Roche, husband of the late Josephine (Frances) Roche, occurred on Friday, August 19, 2005 at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late Edward and Frances (Hector) Roche. Clarence had served overseas with The Royal Canadian Army during WWII and was a long standing resident of Ridgewood Veteran's Wing. He worked in the woods for Thompson's as a lumber jack and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 he also enjoyed playing bingo and cards. Clarence was survived by one son, Christopher (Valerie) Roche of Saint John; six daughters: Edith Bladen of South Carolina, Charlene Marcial of Saint John; Ellen Clarke and Carol-anne Believe both of Ontario; Wanda Roche and Dianne Fatona both of Saint John; one brother, Albert (Kay) Roche of Saint John; one sister Mary Martin of Montreal; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by three brothers, four sisters and one grandson. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 & 21, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2005 from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
