Obituary of Verlyne Mary Foote

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Verlyne Foote announces her passing on Friday, August 20, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born July 30, 1933, daughter of the late Alphonse and Anna (Cyr) Arsenault in Saint John, NB. She married her husband, the late Douglas Hartley Foote, September 29, 1951. Verlyne was an avid bingo player who just recently celebrated her 71st birthday surrounded by her family and friends. Verlyne is survived by six sons, Paul and his wife Marney, George and his wife Linda, Raymond and his wife Susan, Martin, Glenn and his wife Marcia, and Steven and the late Loree Russell, all of Saint John, NB; four daughters Anita, Mrs. William Turner of Saint John, NB, Arlean Mosher and John Russell of Spruce Grove, AB, Verlyne, Mrs. Patrick Garnett, and Christine Foote and Gaynor Reed all of Saint John, NB; three sisters, Doreen Bourque, Shirley Logan, and Donna Butcher (Greg McKinney) all of Saint John; 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Verlyne was predeceased by her husband, Douglas H. Foote in 1995; two brothers, George and Ronnie; four sisters Marie, Linda, Joan Lynch and Rhona McQuade; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Bourque, Robert Logan and Harold McQuade; and one grandchild, Jason Mosher. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting to be held on Saturday, August 21 from 7-9 P.M. and Sunday, August 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 23 at 10 A.M. from St. Joseph's Church. Interment to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
