Obituary of Margaret "Evelyn" Morrison

The death of Margaret “Evelyn” Morrison of Loch Lomond Villa and formerly of 38 Wilton Street, Saint John East, beloved wife of the late Wilfred Morrison, occurred unexpectedly in her 95th. year on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Central Kildare, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert and May (Murphy) Cahill. Evelyn lived for many years in East Saint John and previously had taught school in PEI. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. She was a sixty-five year member of Stella Maris Parish and was a member of the C.W.L. as well as the Legion of Mary. Evelyn was a 25 year volunteer at Centracare and later, she also volunteered at Loch Lomond Villa. She is survived by 5 children, Mary McTague and Bill (Denise) Morrison, of PEI; Margaret (John) Wiebe of Rothesay; James (Barb) Morrison of Quispamsis; Elizabeth “Betty” (Tom) McGrattan and daughter-in-law, Lynn Morrison of Saint John, NB; a sister, Teresa Whiteman of St. Lambert, PQ; three sisters-in-law, Edith Boyle of Orono, ME, Edith Morrison and Vera Morrison of Summerside, PEI; fifteen grandchildren, Anne, Michael, Maureen, Christopher (Chantel), Gregory (Tracy), Jennifer (Tim), Mary Lou (Andy), Bobby (Julie), Jeffrey (Diane), Andrew (Andrea), David (Sue), Leanne (Peter), Katherine (Paul) and Kristine (Jeff); nineteen great-grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler, Riley, Laurel, Erica, Walker, Alexandra, Malcolm, Michael, Myranda, Ian, Maggie, Owen, Nathaniel, Isaac, Liam, Ryan and Will; and many loved nieces, nephews and friends. Her husband, Wilfred, a son, John, son-in-law, James McTague, grandson, Billy Morrison and sister Lillian Hagen predeceased her. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) where visiting will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the CNIB, Stella Maris Food Bank, Romero House or a charity of the donor’s choice.
