Obituary of Guy Charles Nixon

The death of Guy Charles Nixon of Saint John, NB, husband of Mary Alice (Stevens) Nixon, occurred on Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 9, 1928, he was a son of the late Guy and Josephine (MacPherson) Nixon. Guy had been employed with Atlantic Sugar for 48 years. In his youth he enjoyed boxing and baseball at St. Peter’s. He had many hobbies including woodworking, reading, fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. He will be sadly missed. Besides his wife, Mary he is survived by three children: Terry (Lena) Nixon of Sussex, NB, Wendy (Tom) Bennett of Saint John and Catherine (Nixon) Price of Rothesay, NB; one brother, James (Judy) Nixon of Moncton, NB; grandchildren, Lorie, Steven, Angela, Kimberly, Krista, Jennifer, Scott, Mark and Shelley, great-grandchildren, Justin, Hailie, Kaleb, Kaitlyn and Kyle, several nieces, nephews and his special cat, Ginger. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Nixon and Jean Ross and son-in-law, Thomas Price. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
