Obituary of Doreen Lillian Sudsbear

Doreen Lillian Sudsbear of Saint John, wife of the late F. Dallas Sudsbear, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Victor H. and Nellie (Stewart) Wakeham. Doreen lived in the South End of Saint John for several years, where she raised her family, and was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish during that time. She sold Avon products for many years, and enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. Doreen is survived by a son, Daniel J. Sudsbear (Carol) of Saint John; two daughters, Rosemarie Martin (Victor Brown) of Saint John and Dianne Gallant of Fredericton; a brother, Simeon Wakeham of Edmundston; two grandchildren, Daniel Joseph and Jaime Leigh Sudsbear; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Doreen was predeceased by a brother, Ronald H. (Yogi) Wakeham; and three half-sisters, Kay Bradbury, Ida Revels, and Ann Anderson. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2:00 pm from St. John the Baptist Church, Broad Street. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
