Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Graves

Surrounded by the love of her family, the death of Jean Graves of Derrick Court, Saint John, wife of the late Thomas Graves, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. She was born in Glace Bay, NS on June 24, 1922 to the late James and Ethel (Ward) Bennett. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a member of St. John Baptist and St. Clement (Mission Church), the St. Monica’s Guild and Honorary Member of St. Thomas’ Women’s Auxiliary. Jean is survived by one daughter, Sharon Long (David) of Rothesay, NB; three grandchildren: David Long (Beverly), Vicky-Lynn Watts (John) and Raeanne Dunn (Nicholas); six great grandchildren: Jamie (Christine) and Chad Long, John Watts and Samantha, Kirsten and Parker James “P.J.” Dunn; one great great grandson, Joshua Long; one nephew, Barry McNeil (Simoné); three great nieces; Kerry Stevens, Krista Bennett and Jeannine McNeil; one great nephew, Jamie McNeil; great great niece Kyla Bennett and “second daughter”, Marilyn Bennett. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her nephew James Bennett his son Darren Bennett, and her sister Rose McNeil. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be from St. John Baptist and St. Clement (Mission Church), 185 Millidge Avenue, Saint John on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 11 am. Interment will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery, Black River, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
