Obituary of Joseph "Felix" Losier

Surrounded by his family, the death of Joseph “Felix”, age 92, loving husband to Joyce (Wilkes) Losier occurred on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born in Tracadie, NB, June 20, 1916, he was a son of the late Peter and Helen (Losier) Losier. He retired from the city of Saint John as a tradesman. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Canadian Army, serving in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany having been awarded the 1935-45 Star, France-Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He was a NRMA Soldier from May 15, 1942 … July 2, 1942. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was an active member of St. John Baptist Mission Church, Millidgeville. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons; Patrick and Brian Losier of Saint John and Robert (Janet) Losier of Martinon, two daughters; Francine Arseneau (Robert) of Victoria, BC, and Cathy Losier of Saint John, one brother Peter Losier (Jeannita) of PEI; two sisters: Albertine McGraw (Phil) of Rothesay, NB and Geralda LeBelle (Albert) of Montreal, PQ; four granddaughters, two grandsons, three great granddaughters, one great grandson, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers; Daniel and Charles, five sisters; Bernadette, Ida, Josephine, Rita and Helene. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424, with visiting on Sunday, March 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A tribute to a Veteran Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Baptist Mission Church on Monday at 11 AM, followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery Husband and Wife Field of Honour. In Felix’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Our heartfelt thanks are extended to the nurses, doctors, and staff of Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing for their love and care.
