Obituary of Margaret Alberta Sparks

The death of Margaret Sparks of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Willard Kenneth Sparks, occurred on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on April 18, 1920 she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lottie (Dobson) Harvey. Margaret worked for the Salvation Army as a clerk for 14 years. Survived by her two daughters, Rose Marie (Ken) Taylor and Elizabeth Jane (Lawrence) Barker, both of Saint John; two grandchildren, Shane and Lonny Barker; three great-grandchildren, Tevinn, Gavinn and Bastiann Richards; three sisters, Joanne Murphy, Dorothy Martin and Lottie Parker; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Sparks; granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Barker; three brothers, Edward, John and Charles Harvey; two sisters, Maria Harvey and Martha Peacock; one step-brother, Charlie Harvey. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be celebrated from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 11:30 am. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
