Obituary of Madeline Merella Makepeace

The passing of Madeline Makepeace, wife of the late Ronald A. Makepeace occurred on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. She was born at Nackawic, NB on February 7, 1919 to the late Harry and Isabelle (Cronkite) Nason. Madeleine worked for many as a Sale associate for Sears and Calps Department Stores until her retirement. She was a member of Portland United Church and the Pythian Sisters Temple #13. Madeline is survived by her son, Brian Makepeace (Mary) of Medicine Hat, AB; two grandchildren: Ronnie (Melissa) of Strathmore, AB and Scott (Amy) Makepeace of Medicine Hat, AB; two great granddaughters: Emily and Alyssa; nephew, Keith Hall (Marg) of Saint John, NB; great niece Stacie Gallon and great-great nephew, Alexander; several cousins and her extended family at the St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Besides her husband and parents, Madeline was predeceased by her sister, Bernice Hall and brother in-law, Alva Hall. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 from Brenan’s Chapel at 10 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
