Obituary of Charles Ronald Gray

The death of Charles Ronald Gray, Sr. of Charlton Place, husband of Evelyn (LeBlanc) Gray, occurred on Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late James Andrew and Mary Alice (Martin) Gray. Ronald was employed as a cab driver. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the R.C.L. Branch # 64 and the Korea War Veterans Association. He enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets to find a deal. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, C. Ronald Gray, Jr. of Salt Springs; four daughters: Mary E. Allen, Helen C. Gray, Susan T. Gray all of Salt Springs; and C. Ruth Gray of Saint John; two brothers: Frederick (Mamie) Gray of Saint John; and Lewis (Mary Lou) Gray of Poodiac; four sisters: Agnes Perry of Bloomfield; Joan McGinnis and Shirley Goguen, both of Saint John; and Dolly Jones of Oshawa; four grandchildren: Shawna, Andrea and Lisa Shannon, and Terra Allen; two great-grandchildren: Kally Shannon and Isaiah Allen; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one daughter, Sissy and seven brothers: George, Jimmy, Alfred, Gordon, Walter, Vincent and Andy. A memorial service will be held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 1:00 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to a Veteran service 15 minutes before the memorial service. Interment will take place at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Following the service a reception will be held at Charlton Place (off Millidge Avenue).
