Obituary of Eveline I. Scott

SCOTT, EVELINE I. – Eveline Isabel Scott of Saint John, wife of Malcolm B. (Chip) Scott, passed away on Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Nerepis, New Brunswick, on August 8, 1936, she was a daughter of the late George and Catherine (Emery) Taylor. Although Eveline lived in Toronto for 6 years, she spent the greater part of her life in the Saint John area. She was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church, Saint John West, the Dominion and New Brunswick Chapters of the Ladies Orange Benevolant Association, and was an avid bowler. In addition to her husband of 48 years, she is survived by two sons, Matthew W. Scott (Sharon) of New Maryland and Malcolm T. Scott (Fran) of Grand Bay; a daughter, Catherine R. Scott of Moncton; a brother, Donald Taylor(Brenda) of Saint John West; six sisters, her twin Evangeline Lee, Lida Kierstead, Ellen Ryder, Myrtelle Speight (Albert), Doris Taylor, and Judith Galbraith (Kenneth), all of Saint John; 3 sister-in-laws Patricia Scott, Qwen Scott and Carole Taylor; two granddaughters, Sydney and Ashley; five grandsons, Joshua, Ben, Taylor, Colin, and Draydon; two step-grandchildren Rebecca and Jacob; two great granddaughters, Maddison and Harmony; and several nieces and nephews. Eveline was predeceased by three brothers, Alban and George, as well as an infant brother; and a sister, Mary Darlene. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009, at 11:00 am from St. George’s Anglican Church, Watson Street, Saint John West. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Following the burial a reception will be held in the church hall. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
