Obituary of Geraldine Margaret Haslett

The passing of Geraldine Haslett, wife of the late Gordon Haslett, of Summerville, NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 3, 2009. She was born on October 9, 1929 at Saint John to the late Leonard and Elizabeth (Hanley) Quinlan. Geraldine worked for Brown’s Box Factory (where she met Gordon), the Match Factory and Eastern Bakeries, until she started to raise her family. She was a member of St. Bridget’s Church and a past member of the Peninsula Pearls. Geraldine is survived by her four daughters: Dawn Adams (Michael) of Hampton, Roberta Shepard (Ken) of Summerville, Tanya Walsh (Kevin) of St. Catherines, ON and Rhonda Sullivan (Rick) of Grand Bay-Westfield; sister, Diane Quinlan of Saint John; six grandchildren: Marc and Alyssa Shepard, Allison Folkins (Josh), Michael Adams and Bailey and Darby Sullivan; one great grandson, Vaughn Folkins and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Geraldine was predeceased by her brother, Robert and her loving dog, Nikki . Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Bridget’s Church, Chapel Grove, NB on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 1 pm. Interment will take place in St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
