Obituary of Elsie Charlotte Kingston

Kingston, Elsie Charlotte – The peaceful passing of Elsie Kingston, with her family by her side, occurred on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Alexa (Carter) Kingston. Elsie is survived by two brothers: Kenneth (Connie) and Walter (Marjorie) Kingston; three sisters, Jean Titus (Raymond), Nancy Evans (Leon) and Cynthia MacFarlane (Norman) all of Saint John, NB. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her three brothers, John, Reginald and Malcolm Kingston, two sisters, Helen Turner and Phyllis Kane and a brother-in-law, Raymond Kane. Elsie is survived by sisters-in-law, Faith Kingston and Lois Kingston, brother-in-law, Wilfred Turner and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Elsie was a member of Portland United Church and a life long resident of the North End. She worked at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce on King Street for many years where she took great pride and enjoyment in dealing with clients and co-workers (friends). Elsie loved going on trips and Sunday afternoon drives. She was a kind, caring and generous person who always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of NB or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home.
