Obituary of Gerard Joseph Frigault

The death of “Gerry” Gerard Joseph Frigault of Saint John, NB, husband of Helen (LeBlanc) Frigault, occurred on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 19, 1931 in Miscou Island, NB, he was a son of the late Camille and Roseanne (Bezeau) Frigault. For 21 years he had been employed as a baker with Butternut Bakery and at the time of his retirement he was employed with Strescon Ltd. Gerry was an active member of Knights of Columbus Council 11201 (Loch Lomond). Besides his wife, Helen, Gerry is survived by his three children, Gerard Jr. (Sylvia), Mary Ann (Joseph) O’Leary and Mark (Wanda) Frigault, all three of Saint John; four sisters, Clemetine Broderick of Kitchener-Waterloo, ON, Noella Frigault of Penobsquis, NB, Lottie Hooly of Saint John and Josephine (Ronnie) Dorcas of Grand Bay … Westfield, NB; five brothers, O’Neill Frigault of Penobsquis, Felix (Amy) Frigault of Moncton, NB, Francis Frigault of Saint John, NB, Camille (Donna) Frigault and Frederick (Marion) Frigault of Saint John; five grandchildren, Candace (Stephen) Henry, Rosealynn and Joshua O’Leary, Danielle and Devon Frigault; great-grandson, Zachary; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia (né Hanley) and two brothers, Fernand and Oliver and two sisters-in-law Joan and Veronica. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7- 9 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated from Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road., Saint John on Saturday at 10:00 AM. No flowers please, at the request of the family. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Canadian Cancer Society or Holy Trinity Building Fund.
