Obituary of Frances Knight Clark

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Turnbull Nursing Home, wife of the late George T. Clark, QC. Born November 20, 1913 at the Salvation Army Maternity Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Margaret E. (Knight) Drummie. Frances graduated from Netherwood School for Girls, Rothesay, and earned a BA from Dalhousie University. She was a long time adherent of St. Paul’s (Valley) Anglican Church, a life member of the Union Club, and a member of the IODE and the Ecclectric Club. Frances was an avid reader of three daily newspapers, two weekly news magazines and mystery novels. Survived by her son, J. Thomas (Roberta) Clark, and daughter, Margaret J. (Roger) Clark Ouellette both of Saint John, NB; nephews, Robert Bagg (Gay Conrad) of Halifax and Deryk Bagg (Cindy) of Maple, ON; sister-in-law, June Clark of Saint John; two cousins, Thomas Drummie and Frederick Fowler; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her younger sister, Margaret Bagg of Halifax. Special thanks to Senior Watch and Comcare and their employees whose diligent and dedicated care kept her in her own home as long as possible. Also, a special thank you to the management and staff of the Turnbull Nursing Home, for their personal and professional care. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:30 am from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Nursing Bursary Fund at UNB Saint John, Trinity Church Renovation Fund or any charity of the donor’s choice.
