Obituary of Fergus John Price

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Fergus John Price, husband of Margaret "Eleanor" Price, which occurred on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Ashington, England on February 21, 1922 he was a son of the late, Albert and Elizabeth (Edgar) Price. Fergus loved to skate and travel and enjoyed many years spent at their summer camp at Sand Point. He was a member of the Shriner’s, Masonic Lodge Hibernia # 3 and past Deputy-Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of NB and was also a active member and honorary warden of Trinity Anglican Church and former member and past president of St. Andrew’s Curling Club. Fergus was a board member of the Wiggins Home. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Royal Air Force, and also served in the 3rd field regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, RSM. Fergus worked as an office manager for Saint John Energy for 35 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Eleanor; three children, David (Cheryl) of Quispamsis; Paul (Jacqueline) of Saint John and Mary Ellen (Patrick) Hogan of Grand Bay; seven grandchildren, Todd, Andrew, Tracey, Jeffrey, Ryan, Kristina and Kristopher; seven great-grandchildren, Jarred, Emily, Maguire, Rowan, Alex, Jaxon and Rhys; two nephews, Robert Breen of Fredericton and John Breen of Ontario. Predeceased by his parents and sister, Nancy Green. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Fergus’ wishes there will be no formal visitation. A memorial service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or Trinity Anglican Church Renovation Fund would be appreciated by the family.
