Obituary of Blanche Elizabeth Fraser

Blanche Elizabeth Fraser of Saint John passed away on Tuesday, August 09, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Born at Saint John on January 29, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Charles William John and Georgina (Edwards) Fraser. Blanche was formerly employed with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and subsequently the Workers Compensation Board for 38 years. She was a member of the former St. Paul’s (Valley) Anglican Church, and the Fundy I.O.D.E. In her spare time, Blanche enjoyed flower gardening, being especially talented at growing red geraniums, and she liked to read and keep up with current events. In her younger years, Blanche did fine needlework. Blanche is survived by her sister, Louise Fraser of Saint John, and was predeceased by her brother, Gordon Douglas "Bud" Fraser. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside funeral service, which will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
