Obituary of George Edward McAuley

McAuley, George Edward "Booty" – Surrounded by his family the death of Booty McAuley, husband of the late Audrey (Saunderson) McAuley occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on February 15, 2012. He was born on July 19, 1928 at Saint John to the late George and Martha (Gray) McAuley. Booty was part of the militia Pre and Post World War II. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branches #14, #2 and #93. Booty loved to play shuffleboard in his spare time. He is survived by his sons: Terry (Peggy) of Oromocto and Rob (Karen) of Saint John; daughter, Jane Moses of Oromocto; brothers-in-law: Wes Harris and David Saunderson; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, parents and all twelve of his siblings. Booty was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Saturday and Sunday, February 18 and 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Oromocto Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
