Obituary of Frank C. Butler
Surrounded by his family, the death of Frank Butler, husband of Evelyn Butler (Esson, Hogan) occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, August 4, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on June 7, 1927 at Barnaby River, NB to the late Joseph and Grace (Grennan) Butler. Frank worked most of his life at Stelco Steel Inc. in Hamilton, ON. Besides his wife Evelyn, Frank is survived by three sons: Ward (Verna) of Burlington, ON, Ed (Janis) of Troy, ON and Lloyd (Lori) of Dundas, ON; six grandchildren: Kyle (Nicole), Brooke, Chris, Russ, Taylor and Jesse; five step-children: Gloria Maher (Andrew), Patricia Pond (Barry), Mary Jacquart (Paul), Eldon Hogan and Wesley Hogan (Kellie); ten step-grandchildren; eight siblings: Carmel MacDonald (Frances), Yvonne Grady, Joseph Butler (Mary), Jack Butler (Susan), Mary Smith, Theresa Mullin (Nigel), Joan Lynch (Dr. David) and Donna Kostniuk (Gary); sister-in-law, Aini Butler and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his first wife Alice Butler (MacDonald); son, Dale; brother, William, sister, Mary and grandson, Cory. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Visitation will be held in the Slumber Room of St. Bridget’s Church, 12 St. Bridget’s Crescent, Renous, NB on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Bridget’s Church, 12 Bridget’s Crescent, Renous, NB on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Augustine’s Cemetery, Dundas, ON. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
