Obituary of Mikel Marley Jackson

Surrounded by his family the unexpected passing of Mikel Jackson, cherished husband and best friend of Sally Jackson occurred on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on March 23, 1943 at Saint John, NB to the late William and Lulu (Moss) Jackson. Mikel worked for many years as a teacher at New Albert, Simonds Junior High and Kennebecasis Valley High School, from where he retired as Vice Principal. Besides his love of family and teaching he enjoyed his English Pointers. He was President of KV Bird Dog Club and involved with the NB Bird Dog Club. Mikel was member of Erbs Cove Baptist Church. He was a loving father to Chris Jackson (Pam) of Saint John and Jill Greening (Colin) of Edam, SA and grandchildren: Adam and Lauren Jackson. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Lynn Jackson of Hampton; special cousin, Norma Silk and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Mikel was predeceased by his brother Paul Jackson and infant granddaughter, Kailey Jackson. A Celebration of Mikel’s Life will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
