Obituary of George Elton Trentowsky

The death of Rev. George E. Trentowsky of Saint John West, NB, husband of Charlotte (Gray) Trentowsky, occurred on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his residence. Born in Saint John on March 13, 1934 he was a son of the late, Stewart and Gertrude (Allen) Trentowsky. George was a life long resident of Saint John and was educated in local schools and graduated from Simonds High School. He started his working career with NB Tel where he spent 38 years. George had been a lay reader in the Anglican Church for many years and in 1997 became a Deacon and in 2000, a Priest. He was a long time Mason, a member of New Brunswick lodge number 22 F and A.M. George was Past Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of New Brunswick. He was a 33 Mason Scottish Rite and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, Rose Croix, and a Past Commander in Chief NB Soverign Consistory. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte and their daughter, Cynthia Trentowsky of Saint John; one brother, Stewart (Patricia) Trentowsky of Saint John; two sisters, Joan Godfrey and Mary-Ann Plume both of Saint John East; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister, Margaret Trentowsky. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm. Visitation will then be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 115 Charlotte Street, Saint John, on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.. The funeral service will celebrated at Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery later in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances to Trinity Anglican Church or the Parkinson’s Society. A Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
