Obituary of Beatrice Helen Hodgson

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Beatrice Helen Hodgson, formerly of Westmorland Road, wife of the late Ernest Hodgson, which occurred on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born on June 21, 1919 in Alberton, PE, she was a daughter of the late Perley and Lillian (Ramsey) Pridham. Beatrice was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at the First Wesleyan Church, Boar’s Head Road, volunteered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Meals on Wheels, worked as a florist as well as many other odd jobs, enjoyed playing piano, gardening and needlepoint. She is survived by two sons, Eric "Rick" Hodgson (Jean) of Rothesay, Blair Hodgson (Linda) of Collina, NB; sister-in-law, Eleanor Pridham of Rothesay; three grandchildren, Sheri Hodgson (Wayne) of SK, Michael Hodgson (Yvette) of Ottawa, Scott Hodgson (Andrea) of Montreal; one great-grandson Evan Hodgson; one niece and two nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one brother, Lorne Pridham; and one nephew Brent Pridham. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Dogwood Lane and Cedar Lane, Loch Lomond Villa. Beatrice had resided at the Villa for the past five years. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:30 am. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
