Obituary of Bernice M.L. Middleton

MIDDLETON, Bernice M. L. At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Bernice M.L. Middleton, after a lengthy illness, went to her eternal home on November 2nd, 2011. A daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Buckley) Middleton. Survived by daughter Janet L, son Hazen G. and his wife Jane (Smith), son Stephen W., granddaughter Joy Ann and Ed Durdan, and great-grandson, Jacob Durdan. She is also survived by sister Eileen Dibblee, of Sarnia, ON, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, George D. Middleton, who predeceased her in 1990, she was also predeceased by her parents, sister Helen Amos, brother Vernon, brother-in-laws John Amos and Don Dibblee, and a niece, Linda (Dibblee) Astolfi. Bernice was a member of Edith Avenue Baptist Church, and previously attended Grand Bay Baptist Church. She also served as a Sunday School teacher, assistant cub leader, mission band, and various committees. She was a Dominion Life member of the Women’s Missionary Society, as well as a charter member of Senior’s Friendly Circle, Grand Bay Baptist Church, holding various offices. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Long Reach United Cemetery.
