Obituary of Phyllis Geraldine Toner

Surrounded by her loving family the death of Phyllis Toner, wife of the late Borden A. Toner occurred at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre on Saturday, October 8, 2011. She was born on September 3, 1922 in Saint John to the late William and Edna (Doucet) Wallace. Phyllis was a loving wife and mother; she devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed crafts, knitting and playing cards in her spare time. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Clarke (Eamon) of Hampton; sons: Greg and Robert (Lee Ann) both of Saint John; daughter-in-law, Gail Toner; grandchildren: Sherry Smith, Almeda Nielson (Nelson), Julie London (Art), Patricia Toner, Lori (Toner) Morrison (Michael) and Mark Toner (Jaclyn) and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, and husband Phyllis was predeceased by her daughters: Helen Beaulieu and Marie London; granddaughter, Lorelei Knox; sisters: Marie Giggy, Emma Peters, and Agnus Maxwell and brother, William Wallace Jr. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424). At the request of the family there will no visitation. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel Wednesday, October, 12, 2011 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to the Staff of the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre and Clearview Seniors Home for the exceptional care she received over the years.
