Obituary of Marie Anne O'Donnell

It is with extreme sadness that the family of Marie Anne (Caissie) O’Donnell announces her passing away on Monday, February 28, 2011, at The Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home Inc., Saint John, NB. Marie was born on November 27, 1926 at St. Norbert, NB, the daughter of the late Frédéric Caissie and Bella (Thibodeau) Caissie. Marie was predeceased by her husband the late Lawrence (Larry) Edmond O’Donnell (passed away on July 1, 2010) and is survived by six children: Gary O’Donnell (Christine) of Edmonton, AB, Cathy O’Donnell, Marilyn O’Donnell of Saint John, Sandra Mosher (Steve) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Bonnie McKinnon (Alan) and Patricia King (Robert) of Saint John, three grandchildren: Corissa O’Donnell and Sabrina O’Donnell (Keith Walker) both of Edmonton, AB and Joseph James Shelley, Saint John Firefighter; great granddaughter: Violet Walker of Edmonton, AB and several nieces and nephews. Marie is survived by her siblings: Rita Gauvin of Saint John, Madeleine Gauvin of Shediac, Doris Hutton of Laval, Quebec, Normand Caissie, Ulysse Caissie of Moncton, NB, and was predeceased by her siblings: Ida Neilson, Moncton, Fidle Caissie, Shediac, and Joseph Gerard (Jerry) Caissie, Riverview. To honour Marie’s request there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4th from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to CNIB (Retinitis Pigmentosa), St. Joseph’s Hospital (Geriatric Medicine) or the Alzheimer’s Society.
