Obituary of William Frederick McCarlie

McCarlie, William F. - William Frederick McCarlie of Saint John passed away on February 3, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Bill was born in Campbellton, NB on June 7, 1924, the son of Frederick J. McCarlie and Elizabeth (Delaney) McCarlie. He was predeceased by his wife, Odna (Bell) (2006), mother Elizabeth (1930), father Frederick, step-mother Edna (Delaney) McCarlie, brothers, George and Robert and sister, Anna. Surviving him are sisters, Rae Ladouceur, Ottawa, ON; Joyce Enright, Rothesay, NB; Ricci Hawkins, Dartmouth, NS; and brother Vincent, Digby, NS; several nieces and nephews. In 1926 his family moved to St. Andrews, NB where Bill grew up. Bill became employed with NB Tel in 1941, retiring as Administrative Services Manager in 1982. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). Following cremation, a funeral service will be held on Monday February 7, 2011 from Brenan’s Chapel at 2 pm. A private interment will be held in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St. Stephen, NB. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
