Obituary of Frank Reginald Garnett

Frank Reginald Garnett of Vancouver, BC, and formerly of Saint John, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Vancouver General Hospital. Frank was born in Saint John on June 17, 1947, and as a youth became a son of Jacqueline (Lecompte) Garnett and the late Eugene Garnett. Frank enjoyed traveling, especially back east to visit his family, and enjoyed watching television. In his early fifties, Frank had to enter nursing home care, and while a resident of Lakeview Care Centre, he made many friends and joined in the activities the Centre had to offer. He especially enjoyed the morning exercise classes, and was awarded a plaque for his enthusiastic involvement in them. In addition to his mother, Jacqueline Garnett of Saint John, Frank is survived by a brother, Peter Worsley (Christine) of Coquitlam, BC; his family in New Brunswick, sisters Beth Garnett and Laurina Garnett (Andrea), both of Saint John, and a brother, Rowan Garnett (Nancy) of Moncton; nieces Diana Worsley and Amanda Garnett; and a nephew, Joseph Garnett. Besides his father Eugene Garnett, Frank was predeceased by an infant sister, Alice Marguerite Garnett. In keeping with Frank’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to SPCA Animal Rescue would be appreciated by the family.
