Obituary of Kevin Alfonse Downing

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Kevin "Red" Alfonse Downing of Saint John, NB, which occurred on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Born on March 26, 1931 in Saint John he was a son of the late Manard and Mildred (Conroy) Downing. Kevin had served in the Korean Conflict as an ammunition runner. He is survived by one sister, Mary Chamberlain of Saint John; loyal and good friend Geraldine Sherwood of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Frank "Fonzie" and one sister, Marie. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery Field of Honour. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 10:00 am.
