Obituary of Francis Richard Leach

Francis Richard Leach of Saint John, husband of the late Miriam Joyce (MacDougall) Leach, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Saint John Residential Hospice. Born in Saint John on November 13, 1934, he was a son of the late James and Edna (Snow) Leach. Frank was a very acticve member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch # 69. He was an avid camper, and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time at his cottage. Before moving to Saint John Frank and Joyce lived in Grand Bay – Westfield for several years. Frank worked for many years with Sears as a repairman and technician. He is survived by his children, Kim Limkilde (Roger); Jamie Leach (Nancy) and Shari Hachey (Mike) all of Saint John; six grandchildren, Jillian Limkilde, Erika Limkilde, Jessica Leach, Samantha Leach, Jordan Hachey and Michael Hachey; five siblings, Mildred Coyle of Quispamsis; June Titus (George) of Saint John; Gerry Leach (Lois) of Oromocto; Jack Leach (Alice) of Ottawa and Ron Leach (Sandra) of Hampton; several nieces and nephews. Predceased by his parents and wife; brother, Jim Leach and Granddaughter, Haley Hachey. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 pm at Brenan’s Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Trinity Church on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 12 noon. Following the service family and friends are invited to attend a reception at Brenan’s Reception Centre. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 am.
