Obituary of Marie Mabel Landry

Marie Mabel "Theresa" Landry of Saint John, wife of the late Charles Arthur Landry, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born at Minto on August 23, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Alyre Joseph and Josephine (McGraw) Robichaud. Before her marriage, Theresa worked as a telephone operator. After moving to Saint John, Theresa attended Our Lady of the Assumption Church, and was a member of the St. Anne de Beaupré Society. She was a great cook, and also enjoyed bowling and sewing. Theresa is survived by her children, Pauline Jacques and Roger Landry, both of Saint John; grandchildren Charles Shorrock, Irene Shorrock, both of Saint John, Katherine Marshall of Fredericton, Jocelyn Chantel Landry of Saint John, and Ian Landry of London, England; five great grandchildren; brothers Ernest Robichaud of Chipman, Leonard Robichaud (Louise) of Minto, William Robichaud (Lucy) of Minto, Gerald Robichaud of Toronto; a sister, Irene Gorveatt of Bedford, NS; and several nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Landry in 1970; and by an infant brother, Henry Robichaud. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 9:30 – 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John, on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
