Obituary of Mathilda Jesso

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mathilda Jesso of Saint John, wife of the late David Marr, which occurred on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Newfoundland on September 19, 1942, she was a daughter of Augustas and the late Theresa (Young) Jesso. Mathilda loved dancing, playing bingo, darts, cards and bowling. She is survived by four sons, David, Collins (Jackie), Gilbert and Adam (Lisa) Jesso; six daughters, Mabel Watson, Hazel Jesso (Harper), Rena Chase (Paul), Elizabeth Jesso (Brian Savior), Roxanne Legg (David) and Tina Papa (Adam); seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mathilda is also survived by seven brothers and four sisters; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, husband, granddaughter, Rachel Jesso and nephew, Christopher Jesso. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
