Obituary of Margaret Rose Danells

Margaret Rose Danells "Peggy" of Saint John and French Village passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at her residence. Born in Pictou, Nova Scotia, on March 1, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Christina (Whitty) Head. Margaret was a member of St. Mary’s St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church and was a profound believer in her faith. Margie was very involved in the church, always helping out with fund raisers, teas, luncheons and preparing the church for services. She was an active person, working in her garden, going to gym and yoga classes. She enjoyed her family very much and enjoyed the time she spent with them. She loved being host to all of them at her house preparing meals and barbeques. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by her children, Beverly Gardner, Regina; Susan (Cyril) MacDonald, Napanee, ON; Richard (Jenny) Danells, Halifax; Tim (Karen) Danells, Saint John; Mark (Kimberly) Danells, Rothesay; Michael (Cindy) Danells, Rothesay; Jeffery (Carolyn) Danells, Saint John and Jennifer (Danny) Garnett, Saint John; 13 grandchildren; brother, Wilfred (Marg) Head, Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Richard "Joe"; sisters, Marion Stewart and Leona Purdy; brothers, William, Robert, Fulton and Vernon. Margie is resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visitation on Monday, May 20 from 6-8 and Tuesday, May 21 from 6 – 8 pm. A funeral service will be held from St. Mary’s St. Bartholomew’s Church, 648 Westmorland Road on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made in the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
