Obituary of Robert A. Ellis

Robert Arnold Ellis of Morrisdale passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 14, 1933, he was a son of the late George and Edna (Beckingham) Ellis. Bob worked at Flash Muffler, and then as a steel fitter at Saint John Shipbuilding prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Bay, and in his spare time enjoyed woodworking and riding his ATV and motorcycle. Bob is survived by his children, Frances-Jean Wickens (Allan) of Saint John, Jack Ellis (Holly) of Quispamsis, Sandy Ellis (Tina) of Saint John, Jane Levesque (Rowan McLean) of Saint John, Joanne Yorke (Jim) of Morrisdale, Malcolm Bull of Saint John, Doug Ellis of PEI, Jerry Ellis (Debbie Thibideau) of Saint John, and Donna Ellis of Saint John; brothers David Ellis (Winnifred) of Nerepis, Jimmy Ellis (Dianne) of Ontario, and Richard Ellis (Patsy) of Saint John; sisters Ruth Homouth (Bob) of Ontario, Charlotte LeBlanc (Raymond) of Saint John, Marjorie Ellis of Saint John, and Gina Ellis (Gerry Shaw) of Montreal; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by spouses Frances (Speight), Myrna (Bull), and June (Capen); a step-son, Larry Bull; a granddaughter, Kimi Levesque; and by brothers Donnie, Charlie and John Ellis. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Monday at 12:00 Noon. For those who wish, remembrances to the Ridgewood Comfort Fund or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers.
