Wayne Burgess

Obituary of Wayne Edward Burgess

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Edward Burgess, 49, of Saint John, New Brunswick. On Sunday April 24, 2016, Wayne lost his aggressive battle with cancer at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Wayne was the son of Ann Burgess (Sullivan) and the late David Burgess. Wayne is survived by his three daughters, Katie Burgess, Kayla Burgess, and Gina Cormier; his two grandchildren Owen and Melanie Cormier; his two brothers Donald Burgess (Theresa) and Peter Burgess (Florence); and his nephew Adam Burgess. Wayne was an easy-going man; he never worried about the small things in life and he always saw the bigger picture. His favorite past-times included camping, perriwinkling, walking, and relaxing while having a good laugh. He was the type of man who always had a smile on his face despite challenging circumstances that interrupted everyday life, and he could make anyone laugh, even if it was on their worst day. Wayne was a hard working man and took pride in manual labour whether it was working at Becketts, or helping out a friend. We would like to say a special thank-you to Donald and Theresa Burgess. Words cannot express how thankful we are for everything you did during his battle and after. We never would have been able to get through this difficult time without you. Wayne will be missed tremendously by his close loved ones who were by his side until the end. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424). Wayne was laid to rest at Fernhill Cemetery, 200 Westmorland Road, Saint John NB, on Saturday April.30, 2016. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Wayne may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
