Obituary of Izabella Irma Gomori

Gomori (née Szabo), Izabella Irma passed away peacefully at Maple House, Loch Lomond Village on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 with her daughter by her side. Izabella was predeceased by her parents, Térez and Kálmán Szabo; son, Támas Solyom and her beloved husband of 44 years, István "Steven" Gomori. A native of Tatabánya, Hungary, Izabella endured the hardships of WWII and the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. It was during this time that she and Steven fled their country in order to make a better and safer life. They found this new life in Fredericton, NB. Trained as a pediatric nurse, she worked at the Forest Hills Rehab Center and later at the Windsor Street pre-school. Izabella loved her family and was very proud of their accomplishments. She is survived by her loving daughter, Izabell Fagan of Quispamsis; her wonderful son-in-law, Larry and her pride and joy, her grandson, Jamie of Montreal. A special thank you to all the staff of Maple House and Cedar House at the Loch Lomond Village for the excellent care that was provided to her. You are all angels on earth and will be in our hearts forever. A Celebration of her Life will be held in Maple House Celebration Room #2, 164 Loch Lomond Road (Loch Lomond Village), Saint John on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM and will be followed by a short reception. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue or the Alzheimer Society of NB.
