Obituary of Randall Vaughn Ekstrom

We are saddened to announce the death of Randall "Randy" Vaughn Ekstrom, husband of Barb (Orchard) Ekstrom, which occurred on Monday, October 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by his wife and family. Born in Saint John, NB on March 31, 1951, he was a son of the late Carl and Phyllis Ekstrom. Randy loved his years at the farm in Grand Lake, where he was happiest entertaining and cooking for family and friends. He was an avid sports fan. Randy started his career with Shamrock Trusses, followed by many years at Pepsi, retiring from the Saint John City Market where he made many friends and loved to shop and support the local vendors. He was married to his dear wife, Barb for 34 years. He is survived by his daughter Krista (Tony) Bryce; grandchildren Alexis and Jacob; mother-in-law Kathleen Orchard; sister Carla (George) Chase; brother and sisters-in-law Neil (Linda) Orchard, Carol (Dwight) Stuart, Irene (Carl) Thorne; special niece Krysta Trask; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins and members of his extended family. Besides his parents, Randy was predeceased by his sister Noreen. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 9:30 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Officiated by Rev. Christian Persaud from the Parish of Cambridge & Waterborough. Interment will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery in Youngs Cove. For those who wish, remembrances in Randy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Extramural Program or Donor’s Choice.
