Obituary of Karen A. Myles

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Myles at Ridgewood Veterans Wing - Victory Lane on Saturday, June 3, 2017. She passed peacefully with her devoted husband Gordon at her side. She was born on November 14, 1942 in Saint John, NB and was the daughter of the late Gerard and Marie (Horgan) Hanley. Karen was an amazing and loving person who had a zest for life. In her earlier years, she worked at Allingham Travel as a travel agent and tour guide. She had the opportunity to travel various parts of the world on her agency tours. In 1976, Karen was the travel agent for the World’s Largest Hockey Tournament held in Saint John, NB. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Myles of Saint John; son, Anthony (Chanti) McCready of Ontario; brothers, David (Judy) Hanley of Ontario, Rick Hanley and Mark (Colleen) Hanley all of BC; sisters, Terry Hanley and Marilyn Hanley both of BC; Janet Gosnell of ME; stepchildren, Wayne (Joan) Myles, Hutson (Diana) Myles all of NS, Carol Myles, Bette (Stan) Theriault all of Saint John, Barbara (Jeff) Baldwin of Kingston, NB, Janet (Cornel) Keusch and Maureen (Rob) Gravel all of Ontario and her two devoted nieces, Lori (Sean) Irish of Saint John and Linda Duff of BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Karen will be sadly missed by her loving and faithful companion, Simba. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the amazing staff of Ridgewood’s Victory Lane for the care they offered Karen. They went above and beyond to make sure Karen’s last days were as comfortable as possible. From the bottom of our hearts, We Thank You. At Karen’s request, there will be no visitation or service. There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 2-4pm at Grannan’s Seafood Restaurant (upstairs), 1 Market Square, Saint John. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Remembrances may be made to the NB Association for Community Living or a charity of donor’s choice.
