Obituary of Margaret Jean Lyons

Lyons, Margaret Jean – It is with deep sadness that the family of Margaret J. Lyons announces her passing, which occurred on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at her residence. Born in Saint John on July 4, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Jenny (McLeod) Dunham. She will be missed by her sons, Keith and Scott Lyons; her daughters, Louise Belyea (Russell), Joyce Lyons (Derrek Murchison), Cindy Hamilton (Steve Gordon) and Florence Lyons; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Freda Dempster; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Barton Lyons; brothers, Bill and Roy and a sister, Jenny. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 am from Lancaster Baptist Church, 87 Church Avenue, Saint John. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to Lancaster Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
