Obituary of Mark Lee Kliffer

With great sadness, the family of Mark Lee Kliffer announce his unexpected passing on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at his residence. Born November 14, 1947 in Montreal, Quebec, he was the only son of the late Karl "Charlie" and Sylvia (Kraft) Kliffer. Mark was a talented broadcaster, a pioneer in the field of concert promotions, a strong community builder, and a passionate family man. His work in the music industry spanned five decades, spread across the North American continent, and included countless acts of charity that helped people in many ways. His legacy will continue to touch the lives of Saint Johners for years to come. Mark is survived by his children: Charles, Jody, Chelsea (Shawn Parrell), and Matthew (Sarah Spencer); their mother, Barb Kliffer; and grandchildren: Mason and Maya. He was predeceased by his parents. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 2 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
