Obituary of Edwin Drew Crossman

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edwin Drew Crossman, loving husband of Kim Durning, announces his passing, which occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, September 8, 2017. Born in Saint John on July 12, 1959, he was a son of the late James and Janette (McGuire) Crossman. Edwin will be remembered for his ability to make people laugh even at the hardest of times. He was always the life of the party. He was a skilled carpenter, and enjoyed building things. He also had a soft place in his heart for dogs, and his dogs were like family to him. Edwin will be missed by his wife, Kim Durning; a son, Derrick Crossman; stepson, Geoffrey (Jessica) Durning; grandsons, Alex, Matthew and Nicholas; Step grandchildren, Draice and Devyn; his siblings, Lois Law and Kevin Crossman; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Edwin was predeceased by his daughter, Natalie Eklund; and his siblings, Rena, Derrick and Karen. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 12:30 -1:30 pm, followed by a Royal Canadian Legion Veteran Tribute Service at 1:30. A Celebration of Edwin’s Life will follow at 2:00 in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Society of Canada, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
