Obituary of Shirley Marie Hodgin

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shirley Hodgin, devoted wife to Dave Hodgin, announce her passing, which occurred on April 30, 2017 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on February 26, 1954 she was a daughter of Theresa (Arsenault) and the late Lewis Morton. Shirley was employed with Valley Fries for 40 years, and most recently with Tim Hortons before falling ill. Shirley and Dave enjoyed their quick weekend trips to Connecticut. She took great pride in her family, and devoted her love and time in caring for them. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Dave; her mother, Theresa; her children: Allen Morton, Dawn (Derek) MacKay, Louise (Chris) Mason, and David (Tina) Hodgin; her 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Leonard (Vickie) Morton, Lewis (Cindy) Morton, Margaret Morton, and Mary Farren; brother-in-law, David Loughery; along with several nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Shirley was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Chris Kidd. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 6 pm – 8 pm and on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 2 pm – 4 pm and 6 pm – 8 pm. A Funeral Service will held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from the Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 3 pm.
