Obituary of Lana Margaret Hickman

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lana Margaret (Galbraith) Hickman, loving wife of the late Francis E. Hickman, announce her peaceful passing on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Carleton Kirk Lodge. Born on May 28, 1925 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Sadie (O’Dell) Galbraith. Lana was a member of the I.O.D.E. and enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and at her church. She had a sweet tooth especially for tea and cookies. Above all else, Lana loved spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by her son Brant (Yvonne) Hickman and daughter Wendy (Robin) Weir, both of Saint John; sister Vesta (George) Andrews of Ontario; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Marilyn Hickman of Saint John; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister Inez, brothers: Lloyd, Murray, Earl and Lowell. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service to be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment to be held at Lorneville Cemetery.
