Obituary of Terrence Galen Boone

Terrence "Terry" Boone age 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Loch Lomond Village, Saint John, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born on November 18, 1947 in Houlton, Maine, he was the son of the late Hubert and Marjorie (Way) Boone. In his early years, he lived in various communities along the St. John River Valley. Terry is survived by his son, Bradley Keef Boone; granddaughter, Zoey; nephew, Chris Greer of Owasso, Oklahoma; uncle, Jimmie Boone of Aroostook, NB; as well as many great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and special friends. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear sister, Sandy Greer and niece, Tami. Terry was employed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 17 years. He wrote the curriculum for the RRT program at NBCC, which has been offered through NBCC-SJ since 1989. Terry was the coordinator/instructor until 1994 when he moved to the main NBCC-SJ campus to become the Department Head of Health and Human Development. After serving for 9 months, he became Acting Dean and 14 months later, procured the permanent position of Dean. Terry retired in 1999 due to poor health. Terry was active in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) since joining in 1966. He was a member of all branches of the Order and served in all elected offices of the Grand Lodge for the Atlantic Provinces, including that of Grand Master. Terry was appointed to the office of Sovereign Grand Marshal of the Sovereign Grand Lodge. He served the Order for 51 years. As per Terry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will take place in Forest City, NB, at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society - Atlantic Division or a charity of the donor’s choice.
