Obituary of James Seldon Mills

The death of James "Jim" Mills of Saint John occurred on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Carleton Kirk Lodge. Born on December 12, 1939 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Cory Mills and Helena and Horace Niles. Prior to his retirement, Jim had a long working career with A-1 Upholstery. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader. Most of all, Jim treasured the times spent with family and friends and will be sadly missed. Jim is survived by his children, Kelly Coladipietro (John) and Traci Mills all of Ontario and Susan Arseneault (AJ) and Tara Mills (Charles) all of Saint John; mother of his children, Lynne Starkey of Saint John; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and former partner, Kathy Hewitt and her children, Kelli, Stephen and Lynn. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his son, Jamie; brother, Tom; sisters, Dodie, Jackie and Margie; as well as Kelly, Traci and Jamie’s mother, Gloria. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (643-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow the interment at the home of Susan and AJ Arseneault (352 Martello Road, Saint John). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
