Obituary of James Robert Smith

It is with heavy hearts that the family of James Robert Smith, husband of the late Eleanor Theresa (Johnston) Smith, announces his passing which occurred on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Jim was born on November 3, 1937 and was a son to the late Gordon and Edna Smith. Jim spent 40 years working for both Crane Canada and McAvity’s. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at the camp on Trout Lake. Jim will be missed by his family, his son Kenneth (Paula) Smith, his daughters Sharon Smith, Laura (Douglas) Scott, Brenda (Charles) Flynn, Wanda (Barry) Crawford, his brothers, Gordon Smith, David (Carolyn) Smith, Raymond (Hilda) Smith, Walter (Valerie) Smith, Emma (Leo) Horgan, Carol (Orval) Stere, sisters-in-law, Ruth Smith, Susan Smith, and Dawn Smith, brother-in-law Edmond Jacquart, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jim was predeceased by his wife Eleanor, infant sons, Douglas, William and Laurence, his parents, and his brothers, Donald, Leonard and Danny Smith, as well as his sisters, Phyllis, Elizabeth, and Doris, sister-in-law Jennie Smith and brother-in -law’s Wesley and Gerry and special friend Rena Couture.
